In every family, there are patterns and structures that strengthen over time and operate in various scenarios. There are various unspoken rules that govern many of these patterns. The members of a family align themselves into various positions and play roles that keep the family in balance. Sometimes, these structures prove ineffective and need an upgrade to catch up with the complexities of life. Therapeutic work with a family thus aims to generate a map of the family while acknowledging the larger cultural and systemic context that we are a part of, thus identifying the repetitive patterns that are leading to moments of difficulty in your life.
